Hi, I am Shweta , 27 years old and working as a principal in Sr. Sun Beam Public School (my father’s school). I don't have much experience in teaching field but ,Yes I have lot of qualities to handle or manage a school and a role of principal. I am from a creative and innovative educational background as ,I have done my Bachelors in Fine Arts and PGD in Textile & Apparel Design. I started my career with , Ratan Textile (Jaipur) as a Textile Designer. I have a lot of experience in Event Designing , I worked with Planning Wale (Delhi) for two years. From my education and experiences I have learned a lot about management in different fields at different levels. So I am just learning and implementing my creative and innovative ideas related to education.
How did you choose the field of education ? Was it by choice or some inspiration from someone or childhood dream. Please tell us with more details.
It was exactly not my dream but yes, I can say it was my father’s dream which became my inspiration and motivation . My father (ex-lieutenant Ram niwas yadav) is retired from Indian Army. He always wanted to build up a non-profitable school for poor kids or needy ones those are not so wealthy and afford today’s costly education. So now after his retirement he made this school in (2008). So ,after completing my education I joined this school in (2018) as I always believe that you have to educate yourself first to spread the knowledge.
"Padhega India tabhi toh Bardega India" that’s it.
How has education system changed as per your view since you were a student?
The education system then & now have a huge difference. When I was student only few thing were practical. It was not that creative and innovative, Whereas nowadays we have lots of technologies n teaching aids methods and modes has totally changed only books are same.
Some of these impactful tech changes includes:
- Mobile technology is opening new ways of learning.
- Digital games are finding a solid place in the learning process.
- Digital classes & books are also coming with inside CDs.
- Information is easier to come by, but application still needs the guidance of a Teacher. Some of these impactful tech changes included :-

How do you handle discipline problems in today’s world? What is the most difficult aspect of discipline for you?
The ability to manage a group of pupils is not a natural gift with which teaches are born .it is something teachers have to work at , to be learned, practiced and improved. Being a teacher I can say student disruptive behaviour cannot be prescribed but it must always be seen in relation to particular incidents and student. While handling with any kind of misbehaviours are must be also seen that any punishment is in the line with the policy of the school.
Consistency ! I discovered in all my experience with children that the key to an effective discipline policy in any classroom is consistency. For me, consistency means three things :-
- If I have rule, I must enforce that rule
- I shouldn't hand out lots of warnings tell students that I won't enforce a rule
- I must be fair and impartial. I must be sure that the rules are there for everyone and that includes girls as well as boys. The question about discipline are many and varied. They can come in number of ways.
What are the qualities you think an individual should possess to be a good teacher or work in field of education.
I believe any individual who is pursuing in this field should have :-
- An engaging personality and teaching style .
- Effective discipline skills
- Good communication with parents
- Knowledge of curriculum and standards.
- Patience is also the most important thing.
What is your suggestion or guidance for today’s parents in shaping up children’s personality?
I would like to request todays parents to make their children aware of what is hard work and what is the key to success. They should let them live with their dreams. Parents have not force their children to do what they want . They should encourage them with their choice
What would you like to mention for your greatest achievements in field of education which gives you a sense of satisfaction?
The best achievement one can get after being a teacher is to treat each day as new. I learned a lot through teaching it gives me a chance to learn a new thing each day.
The utmost satisfaction after satisfaction students and their parents. Through teaching I can improve myself each day
If you were to change 1-2 things in our Indian education system. What would be those & why?
- Focus should be on skill based educa4thion .
- Honour creativity, research, innovation and original thinking.
- Implement massive technology infrastructure for education.
- Personalize education one size does not fit all.
- In every month, one working day of the school will be to guide students in life lessons . They will be give education regarding daily life incidents.
What is your philosophy of teaching?
Teaching is not an easy task or profession especially if you're not into this profession . When it comes in teaching , lot of paper works are waiting for you to check and to record it. Tons of books or references in your shelf , lesson plans that need to finish on time test papers to construct making instructional materials just for your student. But those things are not what teaching is. For me teaching is making a difference on the life of the learner. Making them a different person and making them to be a productive member of the society. Teaching makes the child discover new things in life. Teaching is helping and moulding then to be what they desire for themselves and to their country as well. It is also giving your time for them as an attention and sign that you truly care for them and showing them how important they are in our community. Learners appreciate the little time you got for them just to teach them even though you are not related with them. Every teacher wishes for the best for her learners. "Teacher is the second parent and school is the second home" of the learners. A teacher must have at least a philosophy in his/her life to make them a better an effective teacher .having philosophy in life will lead you on what kind of style you want in your teaching as long as you make you learners learned from you.
What are the most important strengths you possess that will make you a successful teacher?
- The ability to build caring relationships with students.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching.
- Strong work ethic.
- Patience & Responsibility.
- Friendliness and approachability.
Any other things you would like to share about your hobbies, profession ,yourself, your views?
My favourite hobby has never going to changed and that is Art. Ever since I was little I loved to create , craft and draw things. It has never stopped and even now, whenever I have a pencil at hand with my notebook or a piece of paper , I will draw . Art and craft are one of the best hobbies . We can express our creativity and enjoy the pleasure of expressing our inner thoughts and feelings.
What do you want to accomplish in your profession in next 5 years?
I see myself as a good role model for many children , ideally working at this school. That would be a very nice picture to see in five year’s time from now. Let's make it happen!
If you had not been a teacher or not associated with education field , what would you have been and why?
I would be a Textile Designer. I always had a huge interest in this creative field as well. I had also done my bachelors (B.F.A) & masters (TD).

TEACHERS SPOTLIGHT PROGRAM
The role of a teacher in society is both significant and valuable. It has far-reaching influence on the society he lives in and no other personality can have an influence more profound than that of a teacher. Students are deeply affected by the teacher's love and affection, character, competence, and moral commitment.
Yet teachers don't get their due respect and credit these days. We have started a Teacher Spotlight program where we recognise the effort of these silent and true Heroes of our society and tell their story.
