Tell us about yourself – Your overall experience in education field, National / International experiences, variety of work you have done in the education field.

I am Chidhambaram, principal Barani international School. I have 14 years of rich experience in EDUCATION in Schools. Had 2 years of KVS Experience, makes me in another level. Served as a Tutor for Government school students and produced good results among rural students.

My Aim is to create Innovative education with creativity among children. As a child consultant, I feel Care and love is a key factor for child's holistic development. To create innovation in EDUCATION I have started Teachers training in Happy classroom training and play way method of teaching..

 As a learner, to learn more I have collaborated with International Trainers to learn more. Have attended more National and international trainings webinars in Education sector.

How did you choose the field of education? Was it by choice or some inspiration from someone or a childhood dream?  Please help with more details.

It’s my Interest , inspired by school Teachers. I have been teaching from my 8th standard onwards to my friends . Interest on Teaching and innovation in education makes me to become an Educationist. We can say it's my Childhood dream.

Like to share one thing, I have been getting 100 percent attendance last 10 years continuously. Even my marriage and child born, I didn't take leave from school.

 My Aim is to create INNOVATIVE GURUKUL  EDUCATION TO ALL .

What would you like to mention for your greatest achievements in field of education? Which gives you a sense of satisfaction?

I have received 18 Awards in the field of EDUCATION and received Young principal award, Young ACHIEVER award, Dr APJ Abdulkalam Award etc. But I got satisfied when my students got 100 Mark's in my subject.

Real satisfaction is my students were working in other countries and they told me you are the reason sir . Those moments made me satisfied.

How has the education system changed as per your view since you were a student yourself?

We are going back of Technology but missing ethical things Which require making us as Humans. Before it was Teacher centric EDUCATION and teacher is the God but now its Students centric and book centric EDUCATION, study only book information which students like more.

 Education system should chance, one which covers critical thinking, Creative thinking and emotional thinking. EDUCATION covers 360 degree of life learning process.

What are the qualities you think an individual should possess to be a good teacher or work in field of education?

Good thinker and care with children connect the lesson to life. Deep knowledge and passion for their subject matter. The ability to build caring relationships with students. Friendliness and approachability. Excellent preparation and organization skills. Strong work ethic. Community-building skills.

How do you handle discipline problems in today’s world? What is the most difficult aspect of discipline for you?

Create interest to learn .do things on time with procedure.

I will insist them to learn IMPORTANCE of discipline in life .Once happened to learn that it should not be repeated.

If you were to change 1-2 things in our Indian education system, what would be those & why? 

Change Examination pattern. It should assess students daily with their all activities. Technology impacted learning with higher order thinking skills. Give more importance to Physical Education and life skills. Gurukukal method of EDUCATION. 

What is your philosophy of teaching?

My educational philosophies focus heavily on WHAT we should teach, the curriculum aspect. 

“I believe a teacher should…” and “I use strategies that…” rather than referring to your beliefs and skills in the past tense, such as “I learned it's best to…” or “I helped students achieve…

What are your suggestions or opinion for today’s parents in shaping up children’s personality? Especially in this Online or computer age.

Leave them to grow, How they want / like .Parents observes the improvements and correct the mistakes .Don’t stop them, instead of this teach how to handle and how to protect ourselves .Explain which is Good and which is Bad.

What are the three most important strengths you possess that will make you a successful teacher? Also any weakness in you which you want to improve upon?

If you had not been a teacher or not associated with education field, what would you have been and why?

I have been a chemist to serve society.

What do you want to accomplish in your profession in next 5 years?

As a learner and trying to create good EDUCATION system, I will make necessary change in EDUCATION system in my own school, which is role model for all schools and educators.

Any other things you would like to share about yourself, your profession, your hobbies, your views?

EDUCATION is only key to change society. Children are the only person can change the world. Through educating children , we can change the society in a Truthful one.

TEACHERS SPOTLIGHT PROGRAM

The role of a teacher in society is both significant and valuable. It has far-reaching influence on the society he lives in and no other personality can have an influence more profound than that of a teacher. Students are deeply affected by the teacher's love and affection, character, competence, and moral commitment. 

Yet teachers don't get their due respect and credit these days. We have started a Teacher Spotlight program where we recognise the effort of these silent and true Heroes of our society and tell their story.
